Tijs Michiel “Tiesto” Verwest is a Dutch musician, DJ and record producer of Electronic Dance/ Techno music. He has used numerous aliases throughout his calling, but he became more popular for his work as DJ Tiësto. He formed the label Black Hole Recordings along with Arny Bink in 1997, where he launched the Magik and In Search of Sunrise CD series. He worked with Dennis Waakop Reijers in 1998. Reijers is acknowledged as a producer, writer, composer and arranger on several Tiesto’s releases.

The popular name in the European underground dance music scene has unveiled his first album “In My Memory” in 2001. The songs in the album were perfectly mixed in Tiesto’s signature, it was proven to be more than just Trance. It has nine tracks including “Flight 643” and “Suburban Train” which holds a flavour of Techno while “Battleship Grey” and “Obsession” are more Trancy. His album “Just Be” was launched 2004. Every track is loaded with energy, and is stuffed with sorrowful strings and a beat that moves with foaming power that Tiesto seems to approach very perfectly. Another album was launched in the same year, “Parade of the Athletes” with 12 tracks. It implied an emotional impact through the ingenious use of melody. It could be considered as a landmark production of Tiesto.

Tiesto’s album “Elements of Life” is evidence to his competence of the studio and capability to team up with different music artists.
